2011 IART Festival
July 16, from 11am to 9pm
July 17, from 10am to 6pm
The Marquee of Redford Township
15145 Beech Daly, behind Redford Town Hall
west of Beech Daly and south of Five Mile Road
This intimate festival at the Marquee, a garden setting with both
indoor and outdoor space, offers something for everyone to enjoy.
Our unique, interactive event features juried artists’ booths, a
variety of food, live entertainment, art workshops, demonstrations
and children’s activities. Many of our art project and materials use
recycled objects.
Art!
Local and regional artists present their talented work in the juried
art fair which features both established and emerging artists.
Performance!
The three festival stages feature performances from theater
companies, dance troupes, musicians, performers and poets.
Interactive!
Festival goers of all ages can participate in free arts workshops
Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-5pm. Local artists are offering
how-to workshops that tap into your creativity from poetry to paper
making and painting to drumming, you’ll find there’s something there
that you've always wanted to try. Stop by one of the interactive art
stations and make music, paint, write and sculpt. You’ll be surprised
at the fun you’ll have creating community art.
Eat!
Come and enjoy a wide variety of local culinary delights as local
restaurants and non-profits are on hand to prepare fresh food and
offer a wide selection of satisfying cuisine.
Kids have fun too!
Kids can spend the whole day enjoying the event. We've put together
some fun projects for all ages from recycled materials-rain sticks,
sculpting, origami and more. They can take a break on the Story Porch
and hear our local storytellers or rev up with the bubble tubs, painting
easel, sidewalk chalk and percussion station designed especially for
them from recycled objects.
